Mr. INNOCENTE Arizona Republican Newspaper August 9, 1895 A murderer passed through Pheonix yesterday morning and hot on his trail was Deputy Sheriff J.L. Munds, of Yavapaie County. The very much wateed murderer is named Frederico Monge, who killed a man named Innocente and wounded another at Walnut Grove Sunday night. After the perpetration of the foul deed he walked out of the country towards Phoenix. As soon as the news of the murder reached the sheriff's office at Prescott, Munds went to Walnut Grove, where he obtained the particulars of the murder and the description of the murderer. He then took up the trail and has been closely pursuing him ever since. Monge was on foot and the officer found several places where he had stopped for water and food. He had no difficulty in tracing the man to Glendale, but there all trace of him was lost. The sheriff then came on to Phoenix. Monge has two brothers living in this city and it now transpires that they are also missing but it was learned that they furnished the pursued man with a horse nad joined him on his travels. It is supposed they are making for Florence and rrom there will make an attempt to cross the line into Mexico. The sheriff has gone on to Tucson to head them off if possible.
