JUAN LOPEZ December 22, 1898 Arizona Republican Newspaper Juan Lopez, aged 85 years, died at Camp Verde on the 15th of this month. Died at Camp verde, arizona December 15, 1898, Julian Lopez, a native of Mexico, aged 85 years. This old man was a rancher while Mexican-Spanish, who lived in California when it was annexed to the United States and for the past twenty five years has been a member of the family of W. Arnold, who with his wife cared for him the past six or eight years at their own expense untli two or three years ago. While John Weed was supervisor he got them an allowance of $5 per month to pay for medical attendance as they preferred to keep him rather than see the old man go to the poor house.
