FRANK PATTERSON May 11, 1897 S.S. Patterson, better known here as Frank Patterson cut his throat last Saturday at Shuts Ranch this side of Globe. J.H.W. Jensen, for whom Patterson had been working, received a telegram on Sunday night from W.T. McNelly of Globe apprising him of the tragedy. Mr. Jensen left for Shuts Ranch yesterday. Patterson, who has been handling a lot of cattle for Mr. Jensen for several years, was in town last week and made a satisfactory settlement with Mr. Jensen. He left here with Mr. Shuts last Wednesday. He was not particularly despondent at the time of his visit here, though in talking to his friends he said his life had been a failure. Four men out of five, however, have made a simliar remark at one time or another without a thought of bringing the failure to an end. Patterson was 43 years old and had lived in this part of the country for many years. He used to be a bartender for Jensen and after that managed a threshing outfit. He was well known and liked by business men.
