Richard SLOAN April 2, 1902 Arizona Republican Newspaper Prescott--Richard Sloan, the nine year old son of Judge and Mrs. R.E. Sloan died very suddenly this morning of croup. He was in his usual health and was at school yesterday and was taken during the night with an attack of croup, which resulted fatally about eight o'clock this morning. The boy was exceptionally bright for one of his years and was a universal favorite with all who knew him. His death, coming as it did with such suddeness is a terrible blow to his parents who fairly idolized their son. Judge Sloan was absent in Kingman hodling court and will arrive home tonight.
