WILLIAM F. TIMMONS History of Arizona page 362 William F. Timmons holds an exalted place in the estimation of the people of Yuma in which city he has practiced law since 1899, a period of thirty years. During this period he has evidenced his deep interest in the city and its people in various ways aside from his profession and has always bene regarded as one of its ablest and most progressive citizens. Mr. Timmons was born in Scotland County, Missouri on the 3rd day of July 1869 and is a son of W.B. and Vashta Ann (Koontz) Timmons. He attended the public schools of his home community and Oakland College and in 1888 when nineteen years of age, accompanied his parents on their removal to California. Locating in Los Angeles, he there took up the study of law, was admitted to the bar in 1895 and at once engaged in the practice in Los Angles. Later he went to Portland Oregon where he remained until December 1899 when he came to Yuma and at once assumed a leading place in the community. Soon after coming to Yuma Mr. Timmons entered into a law partnership with Judge Frank Baxter with whom he was associated until 1912. Later he was a partner of W.O. Harris, the firm of Timmons and Harris gaining a wide reputation. On January 7, 1897 Mr. Timmons married Lulu E. Breedlove of San Diego California, and they are the parents of two children, Fred A. and W.F.
