M.L. HASBROUCK Janaury 1, 1898 The remains of M.L. Hasbrouch were found recently sixty miles south of the boundry line. A bullet hole which was discovered in the left side of the breast bone indicated murder. In the dead man's clothes were found a receipt for dues from the Pendleton, Oregon Lodge No. 26 AF&AM. and a newspaper published in Pendleton Oregon--the East Oregonian. The name appearing on the receipt of M.L. Hasbrouck.
