MR. MORENO July 2, 1896 Yuma: Because of an ungovernable wrath, Maria Moreno, a Mexican girl, 17 years old, stands in the awful position of a muderess, her victim being her 14 year old brother who she shot and killed today as the result of a quarrel. The brother and sister became involved in a wordy war over some trifling matter and soon came to blows. Maria lost all control of herself and rushing into the house seized a loaded shotgun. She returned in a moment and taking deliberate aim at her brother shot him dead. At the sign of her bloody work her mind gave way and she is now a raving maniac. She was arrested and placed in jail, but in all probability she will be consigned to the insane asylum.
