GEORGE SELBY Jan 25, 1910 Word was received in Phoenix yesterday that Rev. Goerge Selby the priest in charge of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Yuma, died there of heart disease yesterday morning. Bishop J. Mills Kendrick left last night for Yuma to conduct the funeral services. Mr. Selby was well known over the two territories both as a clergyman and as an educator. He was a native of Scotland and when he came to this country, taught school for some time in Illinois. When he first came to the territories it was as a school teacher. He became the superintendent of the public shcools at Deming, N.M. then principal of the Territorial Normal Shcool at Silver City, New MExico. At about 50 years of age he entered the ministry. He was at Las Vegas N.M. for six years, at Globe two years and at Tucson two years. From Tucson he went to Yuma where he has been about two years. The last time he was in Phoenix was about a year ago when he was presnt at the celebration of Bishop Kendrick's twentieth annivesary as Bishop of the Diocese. He leaves a wife but no children.
