JOHN THOMAS Arizona Republican Newspaper December 12, 1898 John Thomas, died last Saturday night at the residence of John M. Speese in Yuma after a lingering illness of many months duration. He was well known throughtout Arizona. He had been in the west since boyhood, having come from Vermont. He was forty four years old. Thomas owned a ranch and a band of horses in the Lower Colorado Valley. Before his death he intimated that the name of Thomas was an assumed name, but he never told what his right name was.
