FRANK VOMECIL April 27, 1899 Frank Vomecil, one of Yuma County's old timers died at Yuma about half past two o'clock Monday morning from the effects of lead poisoning. Mr. Vomicil had been ill for several years, seriously so for a twelvemonth past. He was the owner until recently of an exceedingly valuable group of producing lead mines at Castle Dome which he sold to W.D. Luce of Yuma who is now operating them. Vomicil took from them many thousands of dollars and finally sold them for a very large amount. His estate, which is extensive, was left equally to his brother in Austria and to John M. Sposse, sheriff of Yuma County who was his most intimate friend for many years and who added him financially and otherwise a great many times.
