Wolfe SIBLEY, Robert: Editor, Engineer and Executive, President of the Peoples Finance and Thrift Company, has an office at 301 Stephens Union, Berkeley, California, is the son of Robert Pendleton and Susie Bolling Sibley, and was born at Round Mountain, Alabama, March 28th, 1881. Came to California from Alabama in 1891. Graduated from the University of California, College of Mechanics at Berkeley, in 1903 with the B. S. degree, and in 1922 was honored with the E. E. degree from the same institution. Is considered an authority on matters relating to hydro-electric development with particular reference to Pacific Coast water power resources, and specializes in the study of, and the editing of articles relative to the use of fuel oil and steam electric generation. Is Executive Manager California Alumni Association, Director Berkeley Chamber of Commerce and prominent in the organization of California’s forty thousand graduates and former students. From 1911 to 1922, was Editor of the "Journal of Electricity." From 1919 to 1922, President McGraw Hill Company of California. Since 1903 is Colonel, University Cadets, University of California, and during the late World War assisted in harmonizing hydro-electric power for government use on the Pacific Coast. Is a member of the Development League of San Francisco, of which league he is a past President, the Faculty and the Claremont Country clubs of Berkeley, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, of which he is a former Vice-president, is a fellow in the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, also formerly Vice-president, and in June-July, 1924 was a delegate to the World Power Conference in London, England. Was married to Catherine Stone, September 8th, 1904. Their residence is 2650 Ridge Road, Berkeley, California.
