Cyrus Henry Auran 
Aug. 15, 1914 - December 6, 2004



Cyrus Henry Auran, 90, of Murphys, CA, passed away Monday, December 6, 2004. He 
was born August 15, 1914 in St. Bonifacius, MN to Anna (Hegerle) and Joseph 
Norman Auran. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in MN and was a 
decorated and honorably discharged World War II veteran.
Cy was married to Phyllis Ruth MacDougall for 62 years. Together they raised 
their five children in Alameda, CA before moving to Murphys in 1977. He was a 
retired California State Employee, serving for 30 years as a Claims Supervisor 
for the Employment Development Department, primarily in Oakland, CA.
Cy actively participated in Council 1658 of the Knights of Columbus, the Young 
Men's Institute, Boy Scouts of America, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alameda 
and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Murphys.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; children, Michael (Rebecca) Auran 
of San Jose, CA,Timothy (Joan) Auran of Burlingame, CA, Theresa Auran of 
Dublin, CA, Kathleen (George) Wetzel of Baltimore, MD and Mary (Daniel) Foye of 
Arnold, CA; grandchildren, Matthew Foye, Edmund Auran, Michelle Auran, Patricia 
Auran, Christine Denos, Deborah Miller, David Auran, Scott Auran, Lisa Miller, 
Janele Auran, Jennifer Douglass, Sarah McNicholas and Elizabeth Wetzel.
A private memorial service was held on Saturday, December 11 to celebrate his 
life.
The family prefers donations to the Christian Foundation for Children and 
Aging, One Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, KS 66103-3719 for Maria Carolina 
Hernandez Toz.
