Farley Ernest R. Farley, an early pioneer in the import and export of petroleum on the West Coast, died yesterday [actually June 24] in Providence Hospital, Oakland. He was 82. Mr. Farley was an executive for the Shell Oil Co's Oakland branch for 33 years retiring in 1947. His last residence was at 964 Grosvenor place, Oakland. He was a member of Oriental Lodge 144 F&AM, the Transportation Club of San Francisco; the 25-Year Club of Petroleum Industries, and the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco. He is survived by a son, Raymond M. of Piedmont, a sister, Mrs. Ada J. Hornbeak of Berkeley, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday [June 29] at 11 a.m. in the Grant Miller Mortuary, 2850 Telegraph avenue, Oakland. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland."
