"Majah" Waters, Familiar Character on the Highways of Oakland, Is Dead
Consumption Ends All
Patient Objects to Medicine, Believing Southern Herbs Would Check Germs

Oakland Office San Francisco Call, 1016 Broadway, Nov. 1.

"Majah" Wates, chimney sweep, cakewalker, banner bearer and town character, is 
dead from consumption at the County Infirmary.

Tall, gaunt, quick of wit and always among those present at every public 
gathering of political import, the familiar negro passed on last night [October 
31] after months of suffering.  Waters was fifty-three years old, a Jamaican by
