YORKER – In Piedmont, Feb. 21, 1923, Elizabeth Dow Yorker, loving mother of Eva M. Yorker, and sister of the late Mrs. Gordon Stolp, and aunt of Fred Stolp, a native of Syracuse, N.Y. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend the funeral Friday, Feb. 23, at 2:30 p.m., from the chapel of Julius S. Gadeau, 2210 Webster st., at 21st street.” END AND Oakland Tribune (Oakland, California) February 21, 1923 (Wednesday) Page 4, Column 2 “EASTBAY CLUB LEADER IS DEAD. Mrs. Elizabeth Dow Yorker, prominent clubwoman and pioneer in the East bay cities, died suddenly at midnight last night at her home in Piedmont. She was the mother of Miss Eva Yorker, executive secretary of the Alameda County Public Health Center, and the aunt of Frederick A. Stolp. The funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. from a private chapel at Webster and Twenty- first streets. For more than a quarter of a century Mrs. Yorker has been prominently identified with the social interests of Oakland. She was educated in Syracuse, N. Y. Active in Ebell, Mrs. Yorker for the past several seasons has been curator of the Original Writers’ section. She is the author of many plays and short stories. An original play is in rehearsal for production in Ebell clubhouse next month by the Little Theater club. Mrs. Yorker was the organizer and for many years president of the Wednesday Bridge club, a small exclusive organization of the city.
