Milnes of 2714 Forbes St., Berkeley, was the scene of a beautiful and simple wedding. The Rev. H. E. Milnes, D. D., Supt. Of the Oakland district of the M. E. church, joined in holy matrimony ‘till death do them part,’ Miss Ada Belle Turner of Morgan Hill and Peter Ruf of Santa Clara. The near relatives only were present. A wedding luncheon, given by the bride’s mother, was held in the Hotel Carlton, Berkeley. The bride was becomingly attired in a dress of white silk chiffon and messalline. She wore a veil of tulle fastened with orange blossoms and pink baby rosebuds and her bridal bouquet was Cecil Brunner roses and maidenhair ferns. The groom was arrayed in his cap and gown, having received his B. A. Degree from the University of California in the morning of the same day, and held his Bible during the double ring ceremony. Miss Marguerite Walker, a student in the King Conservatory of Musid, San Jose, acted as bridesmaid. Paul Holsinger, a senior in the University of California, was best man. The bride, who is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Turner, was a student in the King Conservatory of Music. She is a graduate of the regular and domestic science courses of the San Jose Normal and has been a successful teacher for four years in Santa Clara county. She also studied art for two years at the College of the Pacific. The groom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ruf, began his college course at the College of the Pacific, being a graduate of Santa Clara High school, and finished his course at the University of California. He also has had two years of theological study in preparation for his work in the ministry of Christ and has been pastor of various churches. His work will be through the Methodist Episcopal church. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ruf have attractive personalities and are well fitted for the work of the ministry. The best wishes of their many friends go with them in their Christian labors in Livermore, where they will minister after June 1st.
