To reach it, take California State Route 49 to Sutter Creek. Turn onto N. Amelia. (north side of town) At the stop sign, cross to Mahoney Mill Road. A short distance on the right will be Cemetery Road that leads directly into the old cemetery. The date given on the gate for the cemetery is 1854. The oldest known tombstones from that time are for William A. Storey, died July 15, 1854; and John Lithgow, died December 4, 1854. The cemetery is the final resting place for pioneers, miners, and settlers who contributed to the establishment and growth of Amador County. Veterans from all our recent wars are also resting here, from a Civil War Vet, to those who fought in the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam. Care was taken to cross check the listings. Errors may have occurred, if so, we apologize for them. Please let us know so we can correct. ?? Two Graves, No Marker -- -- [S. Higgins owner of plot] ??
