The upright portion of the stone has clearly been broken off flush with the base. Across the base are the letters "McDOUGALL". Only a few inches in front sits the upright stone of John McDougall, transcribed next. It looks like the stone portion that broke off is narrower than John McDougall's stone and is completely missing. However, it is also plausible that John McDougall's stone is the part that broke off, and that it has been stuck back into the ground next to the base.] John McDougall, Died Feb 10, 1887 Aged 94 years.
