Hacker Nov. 18, 1915 - Jan. 25, 2005 Albert D. Hacker passed away January 25, 2005 at his home in Douglas Flat where he lived for over 60 years. Mr. Hacker was born November 18, 1915 in West Point, CA, the youngest of ten children born to Eli and Josie Hacker, all of whom have receded him in death. Mr. Hacker lived in Calaveras County his entire life. His formal education ended when he graduated from Murphys Grammar School. At the age of 14 he began working in the gold mines. He worked at the box factory in Toyon, the Calaveras Cement Plant, Calaveras County and was a timber faller for S.C. Linebaugh for over 25 years. He worked for Claude Wood Construction Co. ten years before his retirement. Mr. Hacker is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vera, of the family home; daughter, Anna (Paul) Hohman, Paso Robles, CA; son, Leonard (Susan) Hacker, Visalia, CA, his niece he and Vera raised, Roseanna (Frank) Tonetti, Murphys, CA; grandchildren, Ellen (Tony) Grijalva, Paso Robles, CA, Dennis (Karie) Hohman, Kiowa, Co., Marie (Dave) Hicks, Iowa City, IA, Brian (Stephanie) Hacker, Olympia, WA, Andrew (Heidi) Tonetti, Murphys, CA, Angela Tonetti, Mammoth Lakes, CA, and Roseanna Tonetti, Murphys. His great-grandchildren, Bryce and Diana Grijalva, Tristan and Madison Tonetti, Sydney and Isabella Tonetti-Belton, Janie and Samuel Hacker, Nolan and Daniel Hicks, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hacker was Past Master of Ophir Masonic Lodge and a member of the Native Sons. In keeping with Mr. Hacker's wishes, there will be no services. The family requests donations to a favorite charity.
