Leach April 13, 1921 - March 8, 2005 Russell William Leach, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005. He was born in Lockney, TX and was a San Andreas resident for 59 years. He was the Constable of Westpoint for 4 years, then was Deputy Sheriff of Calaveras Co., for 3 years and became Sheriff from 1959 until 1979 when he retired. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII from 1940-1945. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Leach of San Andreas; daughter Toni Lynette Leach-Graff of Valley Springs; 4 grandchildren, Eric Laudel of Modesto, Rhonda Laudel Redding of Stockton, Jacob Graff and Sarah Graff of Valley Springs; great-grandchild, Kori Laudel of Oakdale and sisters, Frances White of Chino Valley, AZ and Dimple Swars of Vallejo, CA. Memorial service: Saturday, March 12, 2005, 1:00 pm, San Andreas Chapel in San Andreas. In lieu of flowers, donations may go to a favorite charity.
