S. Ballard Dies Suddenly At Home Early Today; Was 79 L. S. Ballard, 79, resident of Colusa since 1902, died suddenly at 5:15 o'clock this morning at his home two and one-half miles north of Colusa on the Princeton road. His death came without warning and was a great shock to the family. On Sunday Mr. Ballard complained that his heart was bothering him, but he was not forced to go to bed and no great concern as to his condition was felt. The deceased would have been 80 years old next July 30th. He was born in West Virginia in 1853. Besides his widow, Mrs. Minnie Ballard, he leaves to mourn his death the following: one son, Homer Ballard; two daughters, Mrs. Goldie Walker and Geraldine Ballard; two granddaughters, Mrs. Marie Anderson of Fairfield, the former Marie Alderman of Colusa, and Elsie Ballard, and also one grandson, Jackie Walker.
