Highstreet died yesterday between 5 o'clock and 6 o'clock. Although it is only a few weeks since Mr. Highstreet dropped unconscious in his workshop at Market and Fourth streets, he had been fairly good health apparently and his sudden death was a shock to his many friends. Mr. Highstreet visited several stores yesterday afternoon about 5 o'clock. When he did not return to his home his family began a search for him. It was dark by this time. Mrs Louis Highstreet, taking a flashlight, started to search in the workshop in the rear of the Highstreet home on Parkhill street. She found Mr. Highstreet where he had fallen by the door of the shop. Mr. Highstreet had died only a short time before he was found. His family was heartbroken. His daughter, Mrs C. C. Kaufman, was confined to her bed and was under a physician's care at the time. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning from Our Lady of Lourdes church by Rev. Father Vaughan. Interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery under direction of Sullivan Brothers. Besides his wife, Mrs Julia Highstreet, the following survive Mr. Highstreet; nine daughters, Mrs. Frances Parker and Miss Clara Highstreet of Sacramento; Mrs. J. C. Hern of Seattle, Washington; Mrs. L. K. Larkin and Mrs. R. T. Ford of Martinez; Mrs. E. V. Shellooe of Willows; Mrs. C. C. Kaufman, Mrs. James Fouch and Mrs. Harold Wilsey of Colusa; three sons, Lawrence Highstreet of Oakland, E. J. Highstreet and Louis Highstreet of Colusa; three sisters, Mrs Kate Gauthier of Oakland, Mrs A. Gauthier of Oakland and Mrs. Julius Schnitzer of San Francisco. Mr. Highstreet's mother, Mrs. Frances Hochstrat, also survives him. Mr. Highstreet was born February 7, 1864 in Missouri and came west when he was 10 years old. He has been conducting a carpenter shop.
