He came from pioneer stock, his maternal grandmother being Elizabeth Whyler who was a friend of Capt John A Sutter. His father took up land in Sutter County and proved a successful farmer. His mother was Frances Whyler. McAuslan was a farmer and orchardist for 40 years in Colusa county. He was an active member of farm bureau and a member of Maxwell lodge of Masons No. 288 and a past patron of Wild Rose chapter, Order of Eastern Star of Princeton and a past advisor of Mt Lassen, past matrons and past patrons association. In 1901 he married Berta Lisle, also a descendant of a pioneer family who survives him. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs Maryad Baker of Oakland, two grandchildren, Norval Baker of Greencastle, ND and Joyce Anna Baker and a son in law Raymond A Baker, all of Oakland. A sister, Mrs Fred Girdner of Gridley and a brother , W.D. McAuslan of Princeton also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday in McNary funeral parlors in Colusa. Interment will be made in the family plot at Sutter City Cemetery.
