John Boehmer Colusa Sun Herald Saturday April 11, 1936 John Boehmer Dies SERVICES FOR OLD SETTLER HERE TUESDAY Farmed near Colusa For 23 Years; Leaves Five Children Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes church here next Tuesday at 10 am for John B. Boehmer, 82, former prominent Colusa farmer, who died this morning at 9:15 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs Catherine Lane, in Richmond after a lingering illness. Members of the family were with him at the end. Born in Missouri, August 8, 1853, Boehmer came to California in 1881 and settled on the east side near the Butte Creek schoolhouse. He lived there for 23 years and was eminently successful as a farmer. In 1904 he moved to Maxwell and farmed there for a few years, then returned to the east side near Princeton. In 1915 he disposed of his farming interests and moved to Colusa. Two years ago he went to Richmond to make his home with his daughter. Those Who Survive Five children survive. They are: Miss Stella Boehmer of San Francisco, Mrs Catherine Lane of Richmond, Dr. George A. Boehmer of Richmond and Henry and Alfonso Boehmer of Taft, Calif., Frank Schrader of Colusa is a nephew and Mrs Bernadette Campbell of West Butte is a niece of the deceased. A granddaughter, Dorothy Lane of Richmond also survives. Following services at the Catholic church here Tuesday morning, interment will be made in Catholic cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Brothers. Colusa Sun Herald, April 13, 1936 Monday Boehmer Rites Here Tomorrow Funeral services for John Boehmer, pioneer Colusan who died in Richmond Saturday, will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at Our Lady of Lourdes church. The remains are now at Sullivan Bros. funeral home. Interment is to be made at the local Catholic cemetery. Rosary will be said for the deceased at 7:30 o'clock tonight at Sullivan Brothers chapel.
