Colusa Sun Herald, Tuesday, July 21, 1925 Death Occurs of Louis Gauthier As the Sun went to press this afternoon word was received from the McNary funeral parlors that Louis J. Gauthier, pioneer settler of the valley, had died at Williams, where he had lived with his family for years. The deceased was born at Knights Landing in 1860, and he was married to Miss Catherine Highstreet. There were four children to the marriage, Erwin, Mary, Josephine and Leon. Daily Colusa Sun July 22, 1925, Wednesday HEART FAILURE IS CAUSE OF DEATH OF L. J. GAUTHIER The funeral of L. J. late Louis J. Gauthier, who died suddenly at his home in Williams yesterday afternoon, will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from the Catholic church, Williams. Mr. Gauthier, who was born at Knights Landing in 1860, was for many years a resident of this district and was well and honorably known by all with whom he came in contact. He partook of his midday meal yesterday as usual and was resting under a tree in the yard shortly afterward when his granddaughter ran in to Mrs Gauthier and stated that her grandfather was not well. Mrs Gauthier immediately sent for a doctor, but within half an hour the end came, the cause of death being ascribed to heart failure. There are four children surviving; Mrs J. P. Evans of Oakland, Mrs H. I. Thorpe of Colusa, L. F. Gauthier of Oakland and E. L. Gauthier of Klamath Falls. There is also a brother, A. J. Gauthier, at Oakland. Interment will be made in Williams cemetery and Rev. Father M. Hynes will officiate. The fun eral arrangements are in the hands of J. D. McNary & Son. Daily Colusa Sun, Thursday, July 23, 1925 pg 1 MOURNERS ATTEND GAUTHIER FUNERAL There was a large attendance of mourners at the funeral of the late Louis J. Gauthier who died at his home in Williams on Tuesday, which took place from the Catholic church at Williams this morning. The services were conducted by Rev. Father M. Hynes of Williams and the pall bearers were Jack O'Donnell, H. W. Manor, B. L. Fouch, C. S. Forsythe, E. J. Evans and C. W. Blevins. The floral offerings, tributes to the memory of the deceased, were very large and beautiful and indicated the high esteem in which he was held in the community.
