Colusa Sun Herald, December 9, 1944 Saturday Death Claims Mrs Agnes Hochstrat Beloved Colusa Mother of Five Passes In Home Here Early Today Mrs Agnes Hochstrat, 75, beloved resident of Colusa for 50 years, died at 2:30 am today in her home at 155 Parkhill Street. She had been in failing health for some time. The widow of Frank Hochstrat, who farmed on the East Side for many years, Mrs Hochstrat was one of the community's best known and respected women, the mother of five children. She was a native of Ireland - a kindly woman, devoted to her home and her children. The surviving children are Henry, Joseph and Bernadette Hochstrat, all of Colusa; Mrs Lamb of Oakland; and Arthur Hochstrat, who is with the United States armed forces in New Guinea. Six grandchildren also survive. They are Arthur and Virginia Lamb of Oakland, and Dolores, Frances, Margaret and Dorothy Hochstrat, all of Colusa. The services for Mrs Hochstrat are being arranged by Sullivan Brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning in Our Lady of Lourdes Church with interment following in the family plot in Catholic cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 8:30 Sunday evening in Sullivan Brothers Funeral Home
