Appeal Democrat, November 1998 Francis Hochstrat Francis "Red" Hochstrat, 69, of Elk Grove died November 17, 1998, at his residence. Born in Marysville, hewas a Sacramento County resident for 44 yrs. He was a rancher, sheep shearer, milk tank driver for Crystal Creamery and Butter Company for 42 years, driving more than 2,100,000 miles accident free. He was a member of the Elk Grove Grange. Survivors include wife of 49 years, Lila Hochstrat of Elk Grove, four daughters, Sara Krull of Elk Grove, Karen Glass and Teresa Hochstrat both of Sacramento, Rebecca Wick of Dakha, Bangladesh; two sons Norman Hochstrat of Oroville, Calvin Hochstrat of White Sulphur Springs, Montana. three sisters, Dorothy Evans of Colusa, Dorothy Kitchell of Angels Camp, Margaret Hochstrat of Winnemucca, Nevada; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, which may be left in care of Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel. Services: Visitation is scheduled from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday at Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gridley with the Rev. Brent Nall officiating. Burial will be in Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.
