Soon after his arrival he began conducting the stage line between Oakland and Concord via Walnut Creek, at which he continued until 1872, when he embarked in his present wine and liquor business in Walnut Creek. Married December 4, 1878, Mary, daughter of Albert Sherburne, and has one child: Ruby Teresa, born December 3, 1879.
