Following a brief illness, Mrs. Minerva Harlan, widow of the late Joel Harlan, and one of the earliest settlers in California, passed away last night at her rooms in the Raymond Apartments. Mrs. Harlan had been visiting Oakland from her ranch in the San Ramon valley, and had been ailing for a number of months, although not seriously ill. She was 82 years of age. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Fred Stolp, Mrs. N.H. Llewellyn and Mrs. F. A. Osborn of this city, and two sons, Fred and Elisha Harlan. The funeral will be tomorrow morning at 10:30 at the home of Mrs. F.A. Stolp, Santa Rosa and Vernon avenues." END Then in the DEATHS column on page 14, column 7 is: "HARLAN. In this city [Oakland], March 24, Minerva Jane Fowler Harlan of San Ramon, Contra Costa county, widow of the late Joel Harlan, and dearly beloved mother of Elisha C. and Fred F. Harlan, Mary H. Llewellyn, Helene H. Osborn and Addie H. Stolp, a native of Bellville, Ill., aged 82 years and 16 days. Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services Friday, March 26, at 10:30 o"clock a.m. at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Fred A. Stolp, 589 Vernon street, corner of Santa Rosa avenue, Oakland. Interment service, Oak Knoll cemetery, Livermore, at 4:30 [1:30?] o'clock p.m. the same day, by automobile."
