“Mrs. Van Gorden Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Margaret Van Gorden, resident of Alamo for fourteen years, was found dead 
this morning at her home where she has been in failing health for several years.
Deceased was a native of California, the widow of the late Gilbert Van Gorden.  
She leaves a son, Horace Van Gorden of Alamo, a daughter, Evelyn Hilburn, and 
three grand children, Betty Ann and Margaret Alice Van Gorden and Ann Webber 
Hilburn.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Masonic temple on Monday at 2 
o’clock with Almona chapter, No. 214, O.E.S., officiating.  Arrangements are 
being completed under the auspices of the Harlan chapel.

Inurnment will be at the California Columbarium [now Chapel of the Chimes, 
Oakland].” END
