A native of Keld, Yorkshire, England, he imigrated (sic) to Los Angeles, In California, in 1850. Going thence to Sonora and Nevada county, he came to Eldorado in 1858. He leaves two sons, Richard and Edmund, both of this city, and three daughters, Mrs. Emma Freeman and Miss Mabel Alderson of Oakland, and Miss Anna Alderson, now a teacher at Willows. They are all native sons and daughters of the State, and in their sad re-union at the funeral oft their father a host of friends and acquaintances sympathized and sorrowed with them. Thomas Alderson, a nephew, and all the near relatives of the deceased are residents of this State. With them, the city that knew him best but to love him most, will guard his grave and cherish his memory.
