Lawrence Richards Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Jennie Richards was called to Winkelman, Arizona, last week by the critical
illness of her son, Lawrence, and a telegram received here after her arrival
stated that he had passed away on Sunday from acute pneumonia.

Lawrence Richards was a native of Placerville, and had reached the age of 37
years.  As a boy he worked in the drug store of W. F. Fairchild in this city,
later entering the service of the Southern Pacific Co., being employed at
Tucson, Bisbee, and other points in Arizona.  For several years past he had had
charge of a stationary engine in one of the large smelters, near Winkelman.  He
is survived by a widow, and daughter 11 years of age, his mother, and three
brothers, James, Leonard, and Fred.  The remains were taken to Phoenix, Arizona
for burial Tuesday."
