Death of Mrs. M. E. White

A telegram from W. H. White, at Watsonville, announces the death of his mother
Mrs Mary E White, on Tuesday the 25th instant, from infirmities due to her
advanced years.  Mrs. White was a well known resident of El Dorado county, and
until the death of her husband, the late Judge Wm. White, who preceded her in
death five years ago, resided near Lotus, where their home was noted for its
warm hospitality to the may friends who frequented it.  After the death of her
husband Mrs White went to Watsonville to live with her son, but never forgot her
hold home in the foothills, where she came a bride in pioneer times and where
she had been apart of those strenuous "early days".  She was a native of
Williamsburg, New York, aged about 77 years.

Her friends here are many, and the news of her death will be learned by them
with deep regret.  The funeral took place at Watsonville last Wednesday.
