**Preston Dodds Bozeman Sr. and  Mary  (Bozeman) Hurt Neer were children of a Fresno Co., Pioneer,
Thomas Jefferson Bozeman who arrived in (Kingston, Fresno County) now known as Laton, Fresno Co., CA;
Preston’s mother Rachel Parker died in 1844, when he was only 6 year old, leaving  his father Thomas 
Jefferson with 3 young children. Thomas married Mary’s mother Elizabeth Ford in 1845, in Louisiana on his 
way to Texas, before leaving for California, they had a total of 8 children, Mary being the youngest of the 
surviving 6 children that lived to adulthood. She was reportedly their first born in California.
