Mr. Coffey, who had been visiting relatives here since Dec. 20 suffered a heart attack Saturday. A retired dairyman, he had operated a dairy in Greene County for many years before moving to California. Surviving are five sons, Homer of Route 5, T-Sgt. Virgil Coffey who is with the Air Force in Ulm, Germany, Clarence and Raymond of Fresno, and Marvin of Sanger; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Dickens of 2025 Franklin and Mrs. Christine Scroggins of Lawndale, Calif.; two brothers, Herman of 645 East Loren and Theodore of Fresno; a sister, Mrs. Maude Comstock of 215 West Scott; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Thieme and Son Chapel with the Rev. Willis L. Murdaugh officiating.
