Matthew Mark Fries 
July 20, 1958 - January 22, 2005



Matthew Mark Fries, the son of Verne E. Fries and Elsie Krumbein Fries, joined 
the saints triumphant singing the praise of Jesus Christ, our Savior. He died 
of a sudden heart attack on Saturday, January 22, 2005, in the company of 
friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca, who died in infancy. 
He was born July 20, 1958 in Fresno, CA, baptized at Good Shepherd Lutheran 
Church, confirmed his faith in Christ at Shepherd of the Valley Wisconsin 
Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was currently a member of Saint Peter WELS 
Church in Modesto. A Criminology major, Matthew graduated from University of 
California Fresno. He developed and worked with security systems for 
institutions and later became a computer trainer for government offices.
Matthew is survived by his children, Sarah of Sacramento and Timothy of 
Stockton; sisters, Paula and husband Phillip Steinhauer of Mission Viejo, 
LaVerne Farley of Fowler, and Patrina and husband Rev. John Boehringer of 
Wisconsin; and many close cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A worship service will be held at the Lisle Funeral Home at 1605 L Street on 
Thursday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Fresno.
