Laton, Feb. 28 - Funeral services for Elisha Harlan will be conducted from the family residence six miles west of town tomorrow afternoon [Mar 1, 1919] at 1:30, in charge of Rev. H. Zeller of Riverdale, Mr. Harland [sic] passed away Thursday morning [Feb 27, 1919]. Deceased was one of the famous Donner Lake party* and came across the continent in 1846. He had been a prominent resident of this section of the valley for many years." *Elisha Harlan did cross the country in 1846 as a member of the Harlan-Young Party. The Harlan-Young Party took Hastings Cutoff through Utah, traveling just ahead of the Donner-Reed Party. Elisha Harlan was not a member of the Donner- Reed Party.
