She was born on May 6, 1945, in Salinas to Helen Topham Selleck and David Munson Selleck. She grew up at the Selleck Ranch in Southern San Benito County and Fresno. She graduated from Bullard High School, and received a degree from Fresno City College in Architectural Drafting before transferring to Fresno State College and receiving degrees in both Art and Journalism. Her zest for life was not at all dampened by her need to use a wheelchair from the age of eight due to Polio. It gave her the challenge to figure out how to reach her goals and determination to focus on ones abilities and not their disabilities. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Helen Selleck of Fresno. She is survived by her sister, Linda Selleck, of Fresno. Her friends and colleagues will be gathering at West Valley College [Lemoore], on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at 4:00 p.m. for a Memorial Service, and a second memorial gathering of family and friends will be at the Selleck Ranch in Bitterwater on Saturday, September 16, 2006. The family is requesting that any contributions be sent to a scholarship fund set up in her honor to benefit disabled students."
