B. Thorn _____ One of the largest funerals ever held in this city, was that of the late J. B. Thorn, who was accidentally shot and killed last Saturday afternoon while hunting rabbits at Little River. The services were held at the Knights of Pythias Hall yesterday afternoon, and was conducted by the Modern Woodmen. Rev. Edwin(?) Brown of the Methodist Church was the officiating clergyman. The large hall was filled to the doors with friends of the bereaved family, and many beautiful floral offerings were tributes paid to the memory of the deceased. The funeral was largely attended by the Modern Woodmen, Woodmen of the World, Redmen, Maccabees and Royal Neighbors, of which orders the deceased was a prominent member. Interment was at Ocean View Cemetery. The Pallbearers were: Will Richmond, Samuel Dinsmore, Monroe Clisbee, C. Cole, and L. K. Wood, they being members of the different fraternities to which Mr. Thorn belonged.
