the solemn words which made Mr. Felix Montgomery...and Miss Margaret A. Friel...man and wife...

Ed O'Rourke and Miss Flora Thompson were married in the Catholic Church yesterday...both of
Rio Dell... (July  1, 1898)

There is an old saying that a bad beginning makes a good ending and we hope this will be the
case with our young friend Chas. Maggini, buttermaker at the Eel River Creamery.  Charley was
married Tuesday in the Ferndale Catholic Church, and Tuesday evening he stopped at Daugherty's
cigar store to get a smoke, leaving his buggy horse standing outside.  The horse took to his
heels and ran away and Charley spent most of the night looking for him.  Geo Gries found the
animal early Wednesday morning at the Gries Lane, and strange to say no further damage to the
outfit was sustained than a broken dashboard.  But this is not all.  Wednesday morning Charley
drove up to the restaurant after his bride, and the horse refusing to stand, he struck him with
the whip, and away he went down the street, colliding with Johnny Hansen's' horse and buggy
from the Red Poll section... (February  17, 1899)

Mr. Robert H. Flowers, son of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Flowers of the Island, and Miss Elizabeth
Donnelley, daughter of Mr. P. J. Donnelley of Port Kenyon were married at the Ferndale Catholic
Church at 7:30 o'clock last evening by Rev. Father Kiely...will reside on the Capwell place on
the Island, which Mr. Flowers has rented.  (April 24, 1900)

Mr. Eugene Sullivan of Cock Robin Island and Miss Mary Conway, of Grizzly Bluff, were married
at the Ferndale Catholic Church last Tuesday at 10 o'clock a.m. by Rev. Father Kieley.
W. Dailey was the best man and Miss M. Sullivan, of San Francisco, a sister of the groom,

In the Ferndale Catholic Church, last Saturday, at the hour of noon, Frank Ambrosini, of the
Bolivia Ranch on Bear River, and Miss Victoria Biasca, who arrived a few days ago from
Switzerland were married by Rev. Father Kiely.  After the ceremony the newly wedded couple,
with several relatives and invited friends, repaired to the Ferndale Hotel, where an excellent
spread had been prepared for them.  They departed for their "Bolivia" home the following day.

Coffee Creek section, were married yesterday at nine o'clock a.m. at the Catholic parsonage in

of their friends repaired to the Ferndale Hotel, where they partook of a fine wedding feast...
in the evening the nuptials of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrosini were celebrated with a dance in

Mr. J. Anderson and Miss Fanny Warner, both of this place, were married Sunday evening at
8 o'clock at the Ferndale Catholic Church parsonage by Rev Father Kiely, a large number of
friends of the happy couple witnessing the ceremony.  After the nuptial knot had been tied all
present repaired to the home of the groom on Rose Avenue where a wedding supper was served and
where the evening was pleasantly passed. (June 23, 1903)


Last Wednesday evening, October 7th, at the Ferndale Catholic Church parsonage, the
Rev. Kiely joined in the holy bonds of wedlock Mr. Ernest Vanini and Miss Elva Wright, both of
this city.  The wedding was witnessed by Dr. and Mrs. Caldwell, Mrs. Wright, the bride's
grandmother, Miss Hinckley, and Mrs. Clarence Moller, P.M. Canepa serving as groomsman and
Miss Ethel Matthews as bridesmaid.  Mr. Vanini is the manager of the Diamond Fruit Co's branch
store in Ferndale, and during his residence here has made many friends...for the present they
will reside at the home of Mrs. C. Kinzel. (October 9, 1903)

...a quiet wedding at the Ferndale Catholic Church parsonage at 8 o'clock Thursday evening.
The contracting parties were Miss Addie Giacomini of Ferndale, and Mr. W.H. Look, now engaged
in the harness making business at Loleta.  Rev. Father Kiely officiated, Miss Mamie light of
Capetown attending the bride and Mr. Frank Roper, of Loleta attending the groom.  The newly-made
couple are to reside at Loleta... (February 16, 1904)

Last Sunday at the Ferndale Catholic parsonage Rev. Father Kiely joined in marriage
Mr. Isaac Berti, of Russ' West Point Dairy ranch and Miss Sophia Biasca, who arrived last week
from Switzerland... (April 5, 1904)

At the Catholic parsonage in Ferndale last Wednesday morning Father Meehan joined in marriage
Mr. Francis H. Etter and Miss Dora M. Hill, both of Upper Mattole, only the relatives and a few
intimate friends being in attendance at the nuptials.  Mr. Charles Baden of Grizzly Bluff
served as best man, and Miss Mary C. Etter attended the bride.  The groom is a son of
Mrs. W.E. Etter of the Coffee Creek Section...his bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. George Hill, pioneer residents of the Upper Mattole country...(September 23, 1904)

Last Sunday afternoon at one o'clock Rev. Father Kiely spoke the solemn words which united in
the bonds of matrimony Mr. Joseph Black and Miss Ethel Haley.  The ceremony was performed at
the Catholic parsonage in Ferndale, only relatives of the contracting parties being present...
Sunday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Black left for Alton, where they will make their future home...

Last evening at eight o'clock, in the Ferndale Catholic parsonage, Rev. Father McNaboe
officiated at the marriage of Mr. Louis J. Nassier and Miss Hanna M. Miester, the ceremony
being performed in the presence of a number of the friends and relatives of the young couple.
The bride was attended by Miss Louise Teichgraber, while the best man was Herman Meister, a
