Graveside service is Friday, December 16th, 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park. Polina Uskova passed away on December 12, 2005 in Bakersfield. Polina was born on March 8, 1924 in a small town not far from Moscow. Her parents Anna and Timothy Afonin has had six children and she was the baby. She was only 16 when World War II started and she was serving on second line for the Army. She is a World War II veteran. After war in 1946, she was released from service and moved to Moscow and lived with her two sisters. She married A. Uskov in 1952. They had two daughters: Nadia and Galina. My mom had a long and interesting life full of memories. She was enjoying her grandkids and loved them so much. She loved reading, gardening, and growing flowers. All our best memories are with her. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. We will miss her dearly. Polina is survived by her daughter, Nadia Maberry of Bakersfield; daughter and son-in-law, Galina and Evgeney Dubenechev of Moscow, Russia; granddaughter, Irena Dubenecheva of Moscow, Russia; and Grandson and his wife, Alexander Gudanis and Gennie Lui of Temecula, CA. Special thank you to Dr. Kopelman and his M.A. Lita W.; all my co-workers at BDC for help, support, and understanding. Hoffman Hospice, especially to her nurses Laurie, Anne, Kathy, and Francis. Greek Orthodox Church of Bakersfield and especially Father Christo and his son, Gorge Dizantioy. All my family and friends, especially my sister Galina and her husband. My friends, Tamara and Yakov Nisenbaum and Anna Lewis. Thank you everyone.
