Guadalupe was born May 7, 1927 in Colorado City, Texas and he passed away January 29, 2006 in Lamont, California. He is preceded in death by his son, Danny Almanza and his granddaughter, Crystal Ann Velasco. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Ellen Almanza; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Frank Millar; grandchildren, Xavier (Olivia) Almanza, Michael Velasco Jr. (Andrea), Steven Velasco, Gabriela Velasco, Victoria Velasco and Danny Velasco; great- grandchildren, Xavier Almanza Jr., Ariana Almanza and Karli Velasco; special nephew, Luis Chavez III as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Guadalupe was a big man with an even bigger heart. He always put others before himself. He was a wonderful storyteller. He loved entertaining his family and friends with stories of his childhood and his daily experiences. He always knew how to make people laugh. Whenever he was in a room he'd make his presence known. He liked doing crossword puzzles, reading and watching cowboy movies during his free time. His favorite thing was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. We may not have him with us physically, but we know that he's watching over us in spirit. Words will never express how much he's loved and how much he'll be missed. He will forever by in our hearts and in our minds. For additional service or floral delivery information, please contact Basham Funeral Care at 873-8200.
