Rosa Maria Alvarado

Oct. 21, 1936 – Dec. 7, 2005

Funeral services are scheduled for Rosa Maria Alvarado, 68, on Tuesday, Dec. 
13, at 10 a.m. in the the Wood Family Funeral Service chapel. Rosa passed away 
on Dec. 7 in Bakersfield.

Rosa was born on Oct. 21, 1937 in El Paso, Texas to her parents, Roberto and 
Angela Alvarado. As an adult she lived for many years in the Los Angeles, San 
Luis Obispo and Norwalk areas before moving to Tehachapi about seven months 
ago. Rosa loved to watch football and was an avid Steelers fan. She enjoyed 
crocheting and collecting cookbooks, even though she was not fond of cooking. 
Though in ill health the past several years, Rosa touched many lives and was 
well loved by all who knew her.

Rosa is survived by her daughters, Angela Marie Alvarado of Tehachapi; Sylvia 
Isabella Garcia of Los Osos; and Martha Esther Garcia of Tehachapi; 
grandchildren, Javier Juarez, Rosie Juarez, Angelique Garcia and Kori Hooks; 
brothers, Edward, Luis and Frank Alvarado; and sisters Martha, Alva and 
Elizabeth.

Interment will follow the funeral service at the Tehachapi Public Cemetery, 
Westside. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
