Ross 1922 - 2005 J. Ross Anderson Sept. 19, 1922 - Sept. 22, 2005 Chapel services for J. Ross Anderson will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at 10 am at Hillcrest Mortuary. Officiating will be Pastor John May and the Caldonia Masonic Lodge 486 with Master Jim Bryan and Chaplain Glen Worrell. Visitation will be Monday 4 to 8 pm. J. Ross Anderson, born September 19, 1922 to Charles and Georgia Anderson in Fellows, CA. Ross is preceded in death by his father, mother and brother Charles. Ross is survived by his wife of 63 years Rosalind Dewar Anderson; daughter Patricia J. Finch and husband Arthur; son Kenneth R. Anderson and wife Debra, 13 grandchildren and their spouses; 28 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Jim Dewar and numerous nieces and nephews. Ross was a member of the Caledonia Lodge #486 and also a 33rd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite Free Masonry. Ross served as President of the Kern County Shrine Club in 1981 and for many years could be seen in local parades and Shriner's Potato Bowl games as "Moochie" the clown. Ross served on the Emeritus Board of Governors for the Los Angeles Shriner's Children Hospital and was honored to sponsor numerous children and families to receive assistance through the Shrine Hospital. Ross was employed by the Kern County Road Commissioner's office for 34 years before retiring in 1981. Pallbeares will be Doyle Abney, Walt Arvizu, Michael Goodwin, Arnold Goodwin, Greg Owens, Michael Barry and Ron Marney. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of San Joaquin Hospital, Mercy Intensive Care Unit, and Ross's care givers provided by Interim Health Care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ross's name to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3160 Geneva St., Los Angeles, CA 90020-1199.
