Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Philips on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery. Vincent was born March 14, 1920 in Baltimore, Maryland and he passed away September 6, 2005 in Bakersfield, California. He was the third of seven children born to Carlo and Concetta Miceli Argentino of Cefelu, Sicily, Italy. Vincent and his wife, Ellen Margaret Keenan Argentino, celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary just prior to her death in 1992. They had seven children. Vincent is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ellen; youngest son, James; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Ruth Argentino and brother-in-law, John Shultz. He is survived by his daughter, Rita O'Bergfell of Ridgecrest; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gert Holfeld; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Ron Roberts; daughter, Concetta Baldwin Argentino; daughter and son-in-law, Aggie and Don Curtis; son, Vincent Argentino Jr. all of Bakersfield; sisters, Florence Shultz; and Rosalie Di Giovanni; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Josephine Argentino; brother and sister-in-law, John and Lena Argentino; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Ruth Argentino; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and many other family members whom he loved. Vincent had a strong sense of responsibility and enjoyed working creatively. He worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He shared his many artistic and creative talents with friends and strangers alike. For him work was play and he enjoyed his work. He was generous with his time and skills and always took time to help others in need. Vincent served his county during World War II as a mechanic. After returning home, he and his family moved to Bakersfield where he owned and operated General Auto Works. Vincent was a devout Catholic and his faith served him well. The family thanks Hoffmann Hospice and others who helped to make his transition peaceful and comfortable. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed.
