Oregon. Jim was born August 27, 1925, in Bakersfield, California to Ido and Teresa (Antongiovanni) Banducci. He was raised in Bakersfield where he met the love of his life, Mary Jane Valley. They were married June 20, 1946. While living in Bakersfield, Jim farmed, and 6 of their 7 children were born. In March, 1962, they moved their family to Umpqua, Oregon where he farmed and ranched. Their youngest was born in Oregon. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a man who could talk to any and everyone and did. The kids who worked for him in the bean fields and on the ranch all liked Mr. B and always stopped and talked when they saw him in town. Along with ranching, he worked in construction, at Douglas County Lumber Yard and Yoncalla Food Center over the years. He was very active in the Umpqua Community, was an Umpqua School board member and a member of the Sutherlin Lions. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Sutherlin. The past few years his activities were slowed due to Parkinsons Disease. He enjoyed getting out to visit and drop-in visitors. He was preceded in death by is wife of 48 years in 1994; his parents; a brother, Leroy; and a grandson, Jeremy. Survivors include children, Teresa and Steve Strauss, Sandra Powell and Dave, Annette Banducci, Richard and Dena Banducci, and Robert and Edie Banducci, all of Douglas County, Elizabeth and Gary Gilbert of Tennessee, and James Jr. and Judy Banducci of Idaho. Also numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 6 brothers, Ben, George, Rudy, Ray, and Ralph of Bakersfield, CA and Al of Henderson, NV; and one sister, Donna Dunham of Bakersfield, CA; brother-in-law, Richard Valley and sister-in- law, Susan Valley of CA. He also has numerous relatives and friends in Kern County. Services will be held at Chapel of the Firs in Sutherlin, OR, at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, February 20, 2006.
