All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ca/cafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com January 1, 2006, 9:44 pm The Bakersfield Californian Barnard, Pauline Geraldine 1912 - 2005 Pauline Geraldine Barnard Aug. 1, 1912 - Dec. 29, 2005 Visitation for Pauline Geraldine Barnard will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Monday, January 2, 2006 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Fireside Room at Canyon Hills Assembly of God on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Westminster Memorial Park on Wednesday afternoon, January 4, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Pauline was born August 1, 1912 in Shoneetown, Illinois as Pauline Geraldine Saffer and she entered into her eternal rest peacefully Thursday, December 29, 2005 in Bakersfield, California. Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Barnard and her parents, Grant and Ethel Saffer. She is survived by her three sons, Rev. Jerry Barnard of Daytona Beach, FL, Harold Barnard of Huntington Beach, CA and Rev. David Barnard of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Margie Lockler of Bakersfield, CA; sister, Bette Mayberry of Carmi, IL and her nephew, Don Lockler of Posey, CA. Pauline and her late husband Walter Barnard were married August 1, 1931. Together they both received the call for ministry soon after their marriage. Pauline and her husband launched into full time ministry in the middle of the Great Depression. Walter quit his job in 1935 as a foreman at General Motors, accepting the position of pastor of a small church in Lake Odessa, MI. Together they pastored eleven churches in MI, IL and California. Pauline, along with her husband, were pastors of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Bakersfield which later merged with another Assembly of God to form one larger Assembly. Pauline continued faithfully serving her Lord and others after the passing of her husband in 1972. Returning to Bakersfield to live, she remained active in both church and one on one ministry and counseling. She was loved by all that knew her and she will be deeply missed.
