Father Ricardo Magdaleno will officiate and interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. George was born on the family ranch outside of Tipton, in Tulare County, December 25, 1911. He graduated from Kern County Union High School and Bakersfield College. In 1938, he married the Love of his life, Margaret Jacobs. George began his career with Southern Pacific Railroad in Los Angeles. In 1944, he returned to Bakersfield to raise his family. Pops loved the outdoors, his garden and most of all he loved Mom. The two of them walking hand in hand will be a memory forever. George made sure that his children were educated through Catholic schools, and he was always there to make sure that his family could grow in the Church. He would take his wife to the alter guild whenever she wanted to go. George is predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Margaret; his sister, Avis and brother, Robert. He is survived by his sons, Gerald and wife, Terry; Michael and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Jason and Anicia, Jennifer, Sarah and C.J., Carrie and Sean and Cristine. We want to send a special thank you to Bayly, and Irene Flemming for their loving care and friendship. Donations may be made to Garces Memorial High School or to a charity of your choice.
