W. M Beekman Died This Morning
"William Mortimer Beekman, for five years a resident a short distance outside 
of the city on the Union Avenue road, died this morning from pneumonia, 
following a severe accident he met with in January.  Mr Beekman was operated on 
Thursday last to relieve injuries to the head received in the accident, but 
death was primarily due to pneumonia.  The funeral will be held Friday 
afternoon at 2 o'clock from the South Methodist Church.
"The deceased was 53 years of age and was born in Marysville.  Three children 
by a former marriage survive him and four ranging in age from 4 to 12 by his 
second marriage.  Also three brothers, two sisters, and his mother, who resides 
in Ventura.  Mr Beekman was a prominant rancher and was active in the 
development of a tract just south of the city.  At the last election he ran for 
supervisor of the First district on the Republican ticket, but was defeated.  
Almost two months ago, he was run over by a hay wagon, causing injuries that 
were indirectly responsible for his death."

Minnie Lieb, b 1873 Carpinteria, Santa Barbara Co, CA, was the dau/o Adam Lieb 
& Emily Kerchner.
