Linda Joyce ODonnell Mercer (Nana) 
1950 - 2005 

Linda was born April 4, 1950 in Fullerton, California. She came to live in 
Bakersfield in 1964. She was a graduate of North High School. She worked in 
credit unions and loved helping people. She retired from Chevron Valley Credit 
Union in 1996. Her devotion to her work , her Chevron Valley co-workers and 
many friends was the only thing above her family whom she loved dearly. She 
died September 22, from injuries received in an auto accident. She is survived 
by parents, Dick and Marie Bennett, her daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Jeff 
Meyer. Grandchildren Jacob, Emily, Diesel and Jorja Meyer. Her son Chris and 
daughter-in-law Christine Cordwell, Grandchildren Austin and Katlyn Cordwell. 
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till 5p.m. Sunday and Monday in the Mission 
Family Mortuary, and services will be held Tuesday at 11a.m. in the Great Room 
in Mission Family Mortuary. Our Mom loved being a (Nana). Nothing gave her 
more pleasure than her grandchildren whom she adored. Time - We enter it at 
birth, We pass through it in life, We exit it at death, It was our preparation 
for eternity (For Christians nothing is the end of the world.)
